Google Officially shut down its Orkut Social Networking on September
Google has announced to shut down one of the earliest social
networking service, Orkut. its first attempt at building a social
network. The platform will be formally closed on September 30, after which
users will be unable to log in or export their photo albums to Google+.
“It’s been a great 10 years, and we say sorry to those still
actively using the service,” Paulo
Golgher, an engineering director at Google said. “We wish people will find
other online communities to spark more conversations and build even more
connections for the next decade and beyond.”

Google says it Will be focusing its efforts on YouTube,
Blogger and Google+ moving forward.
Orkut was online from 24.01.2004 to 30.06.2014, which was around
a 10 years service from Google. The major factor to close orkut is traffic,
hacking of profiles, Vulger profiles, etc.
Google advises those playing games through Orkut to raise
the issue of transferring in-game assets with game publishers. For games that
do not exist on other websites, expect such virtual wealth to vanish into the
nothingness from whence it came.
